New feature (Creme 2.7) : custom types of entity

Custom fields can be added to types of entity (Contact, Organisation, Activity…) since a long time; it allows to customise an exiting type of entity & model a business logic which could be very different (like using Organisations to represent City Halls). But it was not possible to add new types of entity without code.

It's now possible to create up to 20 new types of entity directly from the configuration UI.

A new menu entry has been added to access the configuration :

There is currently no custom type:

Let's create a new type:

When our new type has been created, it's available everywhere. In a first time you will probably add some custom fields (by default there is only one field, "name"), add a menu entry to the list-view & create associated relationship types.
This screenshot shows that our new type can receive a specific button configuration:
